Update and new series!!

Hello!

It's been so long since I have posted on here, and I feel like there is a lot to share!
My last post was published roughly half way through my A level exams, which seems like such a long time ago. Since then I have had my last ever day at school (which was so emotional), and my prom which was the most amazing night.
About 20 of my friends gathered to get ready together and then we made our way to the venue which was decorated to a James Bond theme. There were fairy lights everywhere, a casino, and a photo
booth- which proved to be very popular as there were fancy dress props included. It was so lovely to see all of my friends in one place, especially as they all looked so beautiful! I took my boyfriend along as my date, and it was the second prom we attended together. We all had a really good time! Below is our official photo from the night <3

The next event to update you all on was my holiday to Zante with my girls! There were 12 of us in total which I thought would result in a lot of arguments, but I was surprised at how easily we all got on, and it was one of my favourite holidays. We went with Thompson and managed to get a really cheap deal which made me think the quality of the holiday wasn't going to be very good, however I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was amazing with the friendliest manager you could ask for. The night life was insane, and so incredibly cheap too! During the day we did a number of activities such as a VIP boat party/ cruise, shopping, and hiring our own boat for a few hours. Even though we didn't see any turtles which was the purpose of the boat trip, it did mean I was able to drive a boat for the first time and we had a great time getting lost and marooned on a lonely beach.

I didn't go on holiday with my family this year, partly because mum wanted to save up for a new kitchen, but mostly because dad ruptured his Achilles and couldn't walk for a good three months. He's on the mend now and managed to drive the car again last week for the first time since he had his injury.
After coming back from Zante I was thrilled to find I had a job interview at a popular high street clothes store- one that I have loved since I was young! Despite working in shops before, this was my first job interview so I was very nervous, however the interviewer was lovely and made me feel at ease. Needless to say, I got the job and worked there for the rest of the summer until I had to move away. Whilst it was hard to say goodbye to my colleagues at my previous job (I worked there for two years!) I really loved working in the new shop and made so many new friends.
My boyfriend and I wanted a mini holiday before I moved away and so decided to spend a couple of days in London as he has never done the typical 'touristy' things- which I found very hard to believe! We stayed for one night at a very luxurious hotel in Kensington, but arrived early on the first day and went home late on the last so we got two whole days in London. We managed to pack a lot into our days, including a trip on the London Eye and the 4D Experience, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square, the Palace, Hyde Park and so much more! I have to say I am now an expert at navigating the London tube! The hotel was amazing as we got access to the Business Lounge, which meant complimentary drinks!

I mentioned that I had to leave my new job after just a few months and this is because I GOT INTO UNIVERSITY!!! Results day came around and I had already decided that I wouldn't stress myself over it because I had a number of options to choose from- however I knew that if I didn't get into my first choice, I would retake the year at school until I got the grades. I don't know why I put it down as an option but I really didn't like my insurance choice, so it was my first choice or nothing! Luckily I was accepted into university to study Business Management, something I have been excited about since studying the subject at A level. I finished school with: A* A B B D which I am so proud of myself for. My family and friends were all so happy for me, and there is no better feeling than knowing you have done yourself, and everyone that is important to you, proud.
Moving day came and went in a struggle of tears and excitement. My Nana cried when I said goodbye to her, which made me cry so much- but she's sent me off with a tonne of food (even though I'm fully catered!). I'll admit- it was difficult at first, very difficult, because I missed home so much and felt very lonely even though I had made some amazing new friends. I think with something so big as moving to university it takes a while to adjust, and I was grateful for the welcome week as we weren't thrown straight into lectures. I have been here for three weeks now and it feels like I have known my flatmates for ever. I'm so lucky in that they are all really nice people and we get on so well together. My boyfriend came to stay last weekend and we have decided that he will come to stay every fortnight as 'we can't bear to be apart' (sob sob tragic). Lectures have started and I'm happy with my course, and pleased to say that I'm staying on top of the work (so far). My room could be in a better location but I have made it my own and everyone always comments on how homely it is. I think that it's really important to have a homely room when you go to uni, purely to help with the homesickness.

This brings me on to my next point, which is my new series that I am planning for my blog! I'm going to do a University Series which will include posts on a number of important topics related to university life. I chose to do this now as I know people will be starting to apply to university for the next academic year, so yeah woo look out for that!
Sorry for the long post!
Grace xoxo
